More than a watermark
- Each order gets reduced PNG previews, tiled with its client name and order id. Set extra text, text size, opacity and maximum preview edge.
- Only orders marked yes in your sheet get a final/ folder. Originals are copied byte for byte. Generated filenames are mapped back to source names.
- DELIVERY.txt lists the originals, delivery date and your licence note. manifest.csv records each original’s SHA-256 fingerprint so the recipient can compare the file bytes.
- A private index.html overview shows all client batches. UNKNOWN.csv lists missing, unreadable, ambiguous or skipped images and uncertain rows.
- Save to an empty folder in supported Chrome/Edge, or download a ZIP and extract it. A blank order sheet is included.
How you use it
- Save the delivered HTML file and open it on your computer.
- Choose your image folder and CSV. Add order id, client name, filenames separated by |, paid yes/no and an optional licence note.
- Make the batch, inspect its previews and issues, then save. Share only the chosen client’s previews or final folder; keep the whole overview private.
Try the output first
The sample overview was generated by this tool from invented colour studies and fictional orders. It includes paid, unpaid and uncertain payment rows, plus deliberately missing and corrupt images. Download the sample sheet to see the format.
These are test files, not real client work. The browser workflow, ZIP extraction and exact final-file hashes were tested on these files.
Is there a free or cheaper way?
Yes. GIMP’s Text tool and Export As can make a labelled preview for free. You can also copy paid originals and write a delivery note yourself. Paid apps such as iWatermark offer inexpensive watermarking. If you only need the same mark on a few images, those may be enough.
Preview Batcher’s addition is the order-sheet workflow: different client names per batch, a paid-only original subset, delivery notes, file fingerprints and one overview. The sample shows that addition; willingness to pay for it is still unproven.
What it cannot do
- It does not check a payment provider. You enter payment status. An incorrect yes releases originals.
- It copies your licence note without interpreting it. It does not certify ownership or provide legal advice.
- Watermarks can be removed. Inspect small images and long names for readability. Previews are still images; animated inputs get a still preview.
- Use Chrome or Edge on a computer. Everything is buffered in memory. Limits: 100 orders, 500 files, 250 MiB input, 24 MiB per image, 24 million decoded pixels per image and 500 MiB output. These are engineering limits, not large-batch benchmarks.
- Originals retain their metadata. Keep the complete batch private; it contains all clients’ names.
